On January 4, 2017, relying on the State Oceanic Administration, Shengshan marine atmospheric greenhouse gas monitoring system which was established by Marine disaster forecasting technology research key laboratory formally completed and put into trial operation.
With the help of LGR greenhouse gas analyzer (GGA) and related auxiliary instruments, scientists could get the background concentration of the greenhouse gases (methane, carbon dioxide, water vapor). With the excellent characteristics: high precision, accurate measurement, low drift and high adaptability, GGA used to go to the polar expedition many times with the “SNOW DRAGON”, suffering great storms, severe low temperature and other harsh environment tests. In addition, GGA is equipped with automatic drying and calibration systems, also, data can be transmitted in real time. GGA has won the unanimous praise.
Shengshan marine atmospheric greenhouse gas monitoring system installed on the top of the cliff which in the eastern side of the Shengzhou island(the most sensitive area of East China Sea carbon research). The completion of the system fills in the blank of the high accuracy continuous monitoring of atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations over the East China Sea. It has great influence on studying the ocean carbon cycle and climate change of the East China Sea.
